Ohio State Lima to recognize graduates and honor students at June 3 ceremony

 The Ohio State University at Lima will recognize its graduates and honor students at its annual Honors Awards Ceremony at 7 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2005, in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts in Reed Hall.

More than 450 honorees and guests are expected at the event. The following number of Ohio State Lima students are eligible for graduation this quarter:  Associate of Arts, 29; Bachelor of Arts, 24; Bachelor of Science, 70; Master of Education, 34; Master of Social Work, 22; and Master of Workforce Development, 9.

In addition to recognizing the graduates’ achievements, academic awards will be presented at the department and division levels to students who have excelled in their coursework. Honors students will collect their Honors Book Awards and Honors Tuition Scholarship Awards. Other student recognitions include the Violet I. Meek Student Leadership Award, the Arbuckle Creative Writing Awards, and the John W. Hevener Award that recognizes an outstanding graduating senior who has completed the majority of his or her coursework at Ohio State Lima.

Two faculty members will also be recognized with the awards for Distinguished Scholarship and Distinguished Teaching.

Bachelor and Master’s degree candidates receive their degrees at the University-wide Spring Commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.
