Ohio State Lima to host labor practices seminar

The Ohio State University at Limas Office of Continuing Education will host an informational seminar by the U.S. Department of Labor from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at the Best Western Hotel, 1375 West State Route 55, Exit 73 off I-75, Troy.

The seminar is designed to give employers the knowledge to comply with wage and hour laws.

Topics that may be covered include:

The Fair Labor Standards acts and its major provisions of minimum wage, overtime pay, child labor and records keeping.

Child labor laws

U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, including types of discrimination, harassment issues, preventative measures, equal pay act, age discrimination, Americans with Disabilities Act
