For Immediate Release May 31, 2002 CONTACT: Pam Joseph at (419) 995-8284 or Jon Rockhold at (419) 995-8390 Ohio State Lima Psi Chi chapter to induct seven The Ohio State University at Lima’s chapter of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology, inducted seven new members into the honor society at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2002, in Reed Hall 160. Inductees include:
Graduating seniors from the Psychology Department also received medallions recognizing their accomplishments. Sandra Liechty, who teaches East Asian Languages and Literature, won the Teaching Award for non-Psychology professors. Psi Chi was founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is awarded to graduate and undergraduate men and women who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests and who meet the qualifications. Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society. Psi Chi has grown over the past 71 years into one of the largest and most successful honor societies in the world with more than 975 chapters located at college and university campuses throughout the U.S. For more information on Psi Chi, contact Rou Rasekhy at (419) 995-8915. Students at Ohio State Lima can complete the coursework for eight Bachelor’s Degree programs, including Psychology, Biology, Business, Education, English, Family Financial Management, History and Hospitality Management.
