The Path from Apathy

She was walking in the darkness,
Down an alley of confusion,
She couldn’t see the light,
It was lost in her delusion.
Her path was dismal and unconfirmed,
Her sight clouded by depression,
No form of guidance she could see,
As she walked, with her transgressions.
She couldn’t seem to find a way,
To get past her afflictions,
But she’d hear God’s voice calling her,
If she’d only seek Him ... and listen.
He’d tell her that He loves her,
And with true love comes faith,
And if she’d give her heart to Him,
He’d show her the way.
Because even in the darkness,
And even through her pain,
God was still right next to her,
So the truth she’d ascertain,
The cross she’d learn to see as a bridge,
To get through her adversity.
I only wish that she would learn,
To seek Him. To listen. To see.
