Ohio State Lima welcomes back students, faculty and staff
The Ohio State University at Lima will welcome approximately 1400 students to campus when Autumn Quarter classes start Wed., Sept. 24, 2008. 525 will be incoming freshmen, a jump of six percent over the incoming class in 2007. Overall enrollment will be up by five percent compared to the same period in 2007. Final Autumn Quarter numbers will be available after the fifteenth day of class report is released.
Students, faculty and staff will be participating in a variety of welcome activities:

Campin’ On the Quad: 97 incoming freshmen will gather at 8 a.m. for a day and night of team building and fun at this student leadership event. Other activities will include a tour of Lima, lunchtime bowling at Northland Lanes, afternoon activities at the Girl Scout facility on Robb Avenue, dinner in the campus cafeteria, movies on the Quad, nature hikes on the grounds, star gazing at the campus Observatory and a camp fire.

New Faculty Orientation at 11 a.m. in Public Service 207.
Tues., Sept. 23, 2008
11 a.m. – Dean’s Convocation for new students in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts in Reed Hall. New freshmen will learn the traditions and customs that make Buckeyes unique in a welcome ceremony that features faculty and staff in full University regalia. Approximately 300 students are expected.
Noon – Dean’s Welcome Picnic on the Quad. New and current students, faculty and staff come together for lunch, games and door prizes. A massive Scavenger Hunt is also planned.
3 p.m. – Opening Day Meeting for faculty and staff in Science 100.
