Media Alert: Ohio State Lima and PSA 3 celebrate 100th program Tuesday

The Ohio State University at Lima and the PSA 3 Agency on Aging will mark their 100th joint program with “Exercise and Surgical Intervention in the Older Adult” from 9:00 a.m.-12:10 p.m., Tues., June 10, 2008, at the PSA 3 Agency on Aging, 892-A S. Cable Road. (Ray’s Food Plaza)

The program will explore the effect of even moderate exercise and physical activity on people who are frail or suffering from diseases that accompany aging, whether it is ever too late to start exercising, and whether it is safe for overweight older adults to diet or undergo surgery to lose weight.

Presenters are Cynthia Brandehoff, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Katelyn Moser, a Bariatric Surgery Dietitian at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.

Ohio State Lima and the PSA 3 Agency began their partnership in January 2000. The monthly continuing education sessions are popular and fill up quickly throughout the year. The programs cover a variety of topics and provide contact hours for social workers, nurses, nursing home administrators and other health care professionals.

For more information on the programs, contact Mary Jo Ferda in the Ohio State Lima Continuing Education Office at (419) 995-8845.
