Ohio State Lima Kids’ College now taking applications for June 11-13 event
Day camp blends top-knotch learning experiences with fun and motivational activities
The Ohio State University at Lima will hold its third annual Kids’ College for
6th, 7th, and 8th grade students June 11-13, 2008. The day camp is designed to
provide a positive educational experience and foster a lifetime love of
learning.
Participants will be able to choose from a variety of workshops each day. Some of the available topics will include Shout Out!, Here Be Dragons!, CSI: Lima, What’s the Matter?, Jack the Dripper, It’s Hip to be Square, and Cartooning 101.
Friday’s events are designed to get the participants thinking smart by covering topics such as internet safety, a firefighter’s demonstration, an Open House jam and a variety of other fun activities. The finale of the day is the traditional Kids’ College Closing Ceremonies that showcases all the wonderful things made and experienced at Kids’ College 2008.
Registrations are due May 16. Students who will be sixth, seventh, or eighth graders in Autumn 2008 are eligible for the camp. Brochures are now in the schools but participants may also pre-register online at lima.osu.edu/events/kidscollege.
The cost for all three days of Kids’ College camp is $60 per child and includes workshop supplies, morning and afternoon snacks, lunch and a T-shirt. Workshops will be limited to 20 students per class. The camp has slots for 120 participants, which will fill up fast.
