Sutton-Ramspeck publishes new poetry book
Professor leads poetry reading and creativity discussion
Doug Sutton-Ramspeck, assistant professor of English at The Ohio State University at Lima, recently published his second full-length collection of poetry, Possum Nocturne. The works in this collection are about superstition and the belief that natural objects possess souls. The poems portray the physical world with human traits and human consciousness.
Sutton-Ramspeck will lead a poetry reading and creativity discussion regarding his book at the Faculty Assembly Symposium set for 12:25 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 17, 2011, in Reed 160. Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to join in this dialogue.
Sutton-Ramspeck’s other book, Black Tupelo Country (BkMk Press), won the Eric Hoffer Book Award for Poetry in 2010 and the John Ciardi Prize for Poetry in 2007. In 2009 he received an Individual Excellence Award in Poetry from the Ohio Arts Council.
Possum Nocturne is published by NorthShore Press and is available at the Lima Campus Bookstore or Amazon.
