Six future Buckeyes to receive full or half tuition scholarships

Six soon-to-be Buckeyes will receive a full- or half-tuition scholarship at a dinner and ceremony at 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2006, in the Public Service Board Room, Room 214. The awards to incoming freshman are made possible by a generous gift by Arthur and Marian Rudd. The ceremony will not start before 6:30 p.m.

This year’s scholarship winners include: Jihan Akra, Van Buren High School; Jodi Gaier, Anna High School; Justin Rahrig, Delphos Jefferson High School; Carrie Rinehart, Wapakoneta Senior High School; Megan Rutledge, Wapakoneta Senior High School; and Hunter Sidener, Waynesfield-Goshen High School.

The Arthur and Marian Rudd Scholarship Fund provides three full and three half tuition scholarships each year to students for whom such an award will make a significant financial difference. The scholarships are renewable for four years. At current tuition levels, the full scholarship will be worth about $5,600 per year and $22,000 over the life of the scholarship. Other nonrenewable Rudd Scholarships will be available for current Ohio State Lima students. The amounts of those awards will vary as more of the renewable scholarships cycle in over the next several years. The incoming class for Autumn 2007 are the third group to be eligible for the awards.
