Media Alert: Teens and Self Injury focus of documentary and lecture at Ohio State Lima
The Ohio State University at Lima’s Counseling and Consultation Services and Office of Continuing Education will host a program exploring the world of self injury from 10:00-11:30 a.m., Tues., Jan. 19, 2010, in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts.
Wendy Schneider, filmmaker, will present her documentary, “Cut: Teens and Self Injury,” which provides an intimate look into the world of self injury. A lecture and discussion led by Ohio State Lima’s Samantha Haudenschield, PsyD, will further explore the topic on social and emotional aspects and impacts of self injury. The event is free and open to the public.
As part of the Office of Continuing Education’s Programs for Professionals, the same program will be presented later that day from noon-2:00 p.m. in the Ohio State Lima Visitor and Student Services Center located off Mumaugh Road. This program will provide two contact hours for social workers and counselors. The cost is $30, which includes lunch at 11:30 a.m.
