Ohio State Lima brings ‘Super Science Saturdays’ to the Library
Registration begins Mon., Aug. 17
The Ohio State University at Lima, the Lima Public Library and Time Warner Cable present their first Super Science Saturday workshop from 10:00-11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2009, at the Library, 650 W. Market St. Super Science Saturdays are a series of interactive family events for children grades K-3.
The theme of this workshop is healthy food choices. Participants will rotate through three half-hour sessions, which include a trip into the stomach in Ohio State Lima’s Outreach and Engagement Starlab planetarium, story time about nutritious foods, and a nutrition game lead by Dr. John R. Snyder, Ohio State Lima’s Dean and Director and an allied medicine professor. Parents will also “digest” some good community resources regarding healthy foods and all participants will be treated to a nutritious snack.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., Monday, August 17 in the Library’s Youth Services Department, or by phone at (419) 228-5113, ext. 121. Registration will continue until the program is full (up to 100 children, accompanied by an adult).
