Sharp Lobed Hepatica
Sharp Lobed Hepatica (Hepatica acutiloba)
In bloom March 26 - April
7. The three parted leathery leaves of this species grow very
close to the ground. The brown-green color and shape somewhat
resemble the lobes of a liver. Flowers open before leaves appear
and are white or pink, often growing up from a layer of last
year's dead hepatica leaves.
