Cincinnati, OH - After
winning the ORCC golf championship for the second consecutive year, the golf
team wanted to cap off another successful golf season by winning their state
ORC championship. This year's 36-hole tournament was held on two different
golf courses in the Cincinnati area. A total of 14 Ohio Regional campuses
were entered and after shooting a very solid score of 295 on the first day of
the tournament the Baron golf team was in third place and six shots behind MU
Middletown. On day two the Baron golf team played another solid round of
golf on a very difficult golf course to capture their second consecutive ORC
championship with a 5-stroke victory over runner up MU Middletown.
The Baron's scores for the 36-hole tournament were
Steve Mullalley 70-75, Eric Fischnich 73-78, Eric Numbers 70-83, David Brim
83-75, and Brian Schwartz 82-74. The Barons’ team scores were
295-302-597.
The Barons golf team has won the conference
championship and the state championship for the last two years and because of
graduation and transfers will be looking to reload again with students from
either OSU Lima or Rhodes State to keep this tradition continuing. If you
have a golfing background and an interest in being a part of Barons Golf, please
stop by Athletic Director Rob Livchak’s office in Cook Hall.
