Barons drop their 2nd straight Lima, OH – On Wednesday the Barons were able to take advantage of the sun and start their baseball season

Lima, OH – On Thursday the Barons dropped their 2nd straight game to open the season, this time falling to UC Clermont by the score of 5 to 2. Freshman Paul Geuy (Benjamin Logan) took the loss giving up 2 unearned runs on 4 hits in 5 innings of work, his record is now 0 &1. The game was back and forth for the entirety, with the Barons striking first as Mike Allen (Ada) scored the game’s first run on a sacrifice fly by freshman Brad Comstock (Hardin Northern) in the 2nd  inning. The Barons added a 2nd run in the 3rd inning as Justin Mayer (Shawnee) got on with a double and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Matt Helmstetter (St. Marys). The two runs weren’t enough however as UC Clermont came back to tie the game in the 4th and later take the lead for good in the 7th inning. The loss drops the Barons record to 0 & 2 on the season.


The Barons return to action Sunday at home versus Capital University for a doubleheader scheduled to start at 1pm.
