Lady Barons saving best for last

Lima, OH – Wednesday was Parents Night and the Lady Barons played hard for their parents ending their regular season with a win over OSU Marion by the score of 60 to 45.

The game was very close for the first 25 minutes of action, but the Lady Barons kept increasing the pressure on defense and found a way to pull away for the 15 point victory. The timing couldn’t be better for the Lady Barons to be playing their best basketball of the season. Over their last three games they are 2 and 1, with the one loss being by only 2 points against the #2 seed in the upcoming state tournament.

Leading the way offensively last night for the Lady Barons was Allison Brodman (Bluffton) with 30. Another key contributor on the evening was Kayla Doepker (Lima Central Catholic) who added 16 points.

The win raises the Lady Barons’ record to 5 & 16, but heading in to the postseason with the confidence of a team over the .500 mark.

The Lady Barons first game in tournament play will be Saturday, February 16th at 5pm on OSU Newark’s campus as they take on Miami University Hamilton. The winner of that game will play on Sunday at 5pm versus Ohio University Lancaster for the right to move on to the final four round on Ohio University at Chillicothe’s campus the following weekend.
