Lancaster, OH – Saturday the Lady Barons fell for the 2nd time this
season to OU Lancaster, this time by the score of 47 to 66. OUL came out
absolutely on fire, as they built an early lead of 22 to 3. While OUL was on
fire, the Lady Barons couldn’t get anything to fall for them, despite some open
looks. After dropping their first field goal of the game at the 7:32 mark of
the first half, the Lady Barons went back and forth with OUL, temporarily
closing the gap at times, but never really able to bring the score back to
within reach. A positive view of the game would show that for the last 28
minutes of the game, the Lady Barons were even with OUL as they each scored 44
points in that span.
Leading the way for the Barons in scoring with
12 points was the combo of Courtney Mauk (Bath) with
12 and Kayla Doepker (Lima Central Catholic) with 12.
Allison Brodman (Bluffton) added her contribution of
11. This was the first time in 13 games that Brodman
didn’t lead the Lady Barons in scoring.
The Barons next game is Wednesday, January
23rd as they travel to take on MU Middletown. Tip off is set for 5:30pm, with
the Barons Men following up the act with their tip off set for 7:30pm.
The Lady Barons don’t return home until Saturday, January 26th as they host OU Zanesville in “The Hangar” in Cook Hall. Tip for that game is set for 1pm.
Come out and support the Barons! Admission is free for all OSU and Rhodes State students.
