Lancaster, OH – On Saturday the Barons fell to OU Lancaster 73 to 78. This was the Barons’ first conference loss since December 22nd.
The Barons actually lead for nearly the entirety of the game, but fell short as they were called for a penalty with 0.8 seconds remaining on the clock. That penalty was followed up by a technical foul called on Daniel Dray, and another technical followed that by Coach Koverman. OUL followed up by making all 6 free throws they were awarded, thus gaining the five point victory.
Offensive leaders for the Barons were Brent Cook (Spencerville) with 19, Jordan Swift (Shawnee) with 18, Justin Mayer (Shawnee) with 10, and Daniel Dray (Cory Rawson) with 10.
The loss drops the Barons’ record to 11 & 9 overall, 9 & 5 in the ORCC. The Barons continue their road swing Wednesday with a trip over to MU Middletown on Wednesday, with the tip scheduled for 7:30pm.
The Barons do not return home again until Saturday, January 26th as they host OU Zanesville with the tip set for 3pm following the Lady Barons contest starting at 1pm.
