Abe Ambroza
Abe Ambroza enters his 5th season as the Head Baseball Coach for the Barons. During his tenure he has led the Barons to an ORCC record of 38 wins & 18 losses, and an overall record of 75 wins & 73 losses. In 2013 Ambrozaís Barons received Ten ORCC recognitions for 1st Team, 2nd Team, and All Academic Honors! The 2013 season was highlighted by wins over NAIA foes Alice Lloyd College and Bluefield College as well as ORCC 2013 Regular Season Champion, Miami Hamilton and 2013 ORC Tournament Champion, Wright State Lake.

Career highlights for Ambroza during his tenure as Head Coach of the Barons are the 2010 ORCC East Division Championship and the 2011 ORC Tournament Runner Up finish. The 2010 Championship was the first ORCC Championship for Barons Baseball since 1993.

Ambroza came to the Barons after spending 2 years as an assistant at his Alma Mater, Central Michigan University from 2005 to 2007. Ambroza also served as the Recruiting Coordinator/Assistant Coach at Loyola University of New Orleans for the 2004/05 season. During his summers, Ambroza has amassed additional coaching experience serving as an assistant coach for the Lima Locos, a member of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League for two summers as well as heading a Connie Mack team based in Mt. Pleasant, MI called the Central Michigan Stars whom reached the U.S. semifinals during his second season at the helm.

Ambroza split his college years between Ohio Northern University, where he lettered his freshman and sophomore years, and with Central Michigan University where he was a member of the 1999 Chippewas. Ambroza ended his collegiate career serving as a player/coach of the CMU Club Baseball program in 2001, which made it to the Inaugural National Club Baseball Association World Series in Syracuse, NY, where they fell in their semifinal matchup with the Baseball Club from the University of Texas.

Ambroza is from Rushmore, OH, and is a graduate of Columbus Grove High School. Ambroza also is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where he earned a Bachelorís Degree in Sports Studies. Coach Ambroza likes to stay active in his community as he is currently a member of the Lima Breakfast Optimists. He is currently working towards a Masters of Education from University of Missouri while residing in Pandora, OH with his wife Sara and daughter Allison.

Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator

Mike Jerome
Coach Mike Jerome is in his second year as an on-the-field coach and forth year as recruiting coordinator. Mike joined the staff as a recruiting coordinator in January 2011 and has helped to steadily increased roster size and talent level with an expanded reach in northwest Ohio and more with Barons coming to Lima, OH from Florida, Michigan, Canada, Indiana and New York.

Coach Jerome is a 1984 graduate of Van Wert High School. He continued his baseball career and education at Tri-State University in 1985 before joining the United States Navy in 1988. While in the Navy, Jerome remained active playing on the All Navy softball team as well as base softball leagues. He retired from the Navy in March 2009 and has 15 years coaching experience at all levels from little league to high school.

Currently, Coach Jerome is finishing his Bachelor degree in Middle Childhood Education and hopes to teach or work in college admissions as well as coach at the collegiate level. He and his wife Teri and sons Ryne and Blaine reside in Payne, OH.

    The Barons compete in the Ohio Regional Campus Conference. O.R.C.C. baseball consists of nine programs. There is a regular season champion as well as a post season tournament held at the end of the year at a chosen host site. The Barons will play 35 to 40 games against ORCC, NCAA, NAIA, and USCAA opponents. Walk on tryouts for the baseball team take place the 2nd week of the Autumn Semester. The season starts late February and ends in mid May. The Barons follow the rules set forth by the NCAA.
