Family Financial Services is focused on helping individuals and families reach their goals through the wise management of their personal finances. The curriculum focuses on topics such as insurance, credit, savings and investing, taxation, retirement, and estate planning. Students in the program can choose specialty areas of study so that their education can more closely match their career services, and in some cases, help in securing professional certification.

Career Opportunities

Graduates are employed in a wide range of careers. They frequently pursue careers as financial planners, stockbrokers, real estate brokers, credit counselors or in other professions within the financial services industry. Beginning salaries are dependent upon the candidate's skills, previous work experience and other employer-determined factors.

As with many of Ohio State Lima's programs, courses are offered through a combination of various instructional techniques including web-based courses, distance learning, and on-campus instruction offered by regular full and part time departmental faculty as well as local business leaders.
